The Middle East, with its searing temperatures, fine abrasive sands, and relentless summer sun, presents a unique crucible for automotive excellence. Lincoln, however, doesn’t look to this environment as a test; rather an opportunity to sculpt a sophisticated automotive masterpiece.
But before the all-new Navigator can grace our regional roads, it must endure the kinds of comprehensive, methodically designed hot weather tests that aim to guarantee the exceptional quality, unwavering reliability, and sublime performance that define the Lincoln experience.
Vehicles operating in Middle East demand more than just robust construction; they require resilience against intense heat that can compromise materials, strain mechanical components, and diminish the efficiency of critical systems. As well as the ever-present sand and dust that pose additional threat, capable of infiltrating sensitive areas and accelerating wear.
Lincoln’s understanding of this environment is why it invests so significantly in extensive hot weather testing programs, pushing the Navigator to its absolute limits in environments that precisely mirror the realities of Middle Eastern driving.
This investment is seen through a dedicated engineering team based in the region, coupled with insights from in-market scrutiny, with which Lincoln has cultivated a heritage of rigorous local testing, contributing directly to the final, exquisite design of its flagship model.
The Navigator’s journey through these extreme conditions is a multi-faceted process, often drawing global engineering teams to witness its resilience firsthand, where every aspect, from the powertrain’s seamless delivery of 440 horsepower and 691 Nm of torque to the efficacy of the air conditioning and the lasting exquisiteness of its interior materials, undergoes rigorous examination.
Throughout Lincoln’s climate testing, the Navigator is subjected to prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, simulating the intense heat experienced during a typical summer, as it traverses a variety of surfaces, from paved roads to gravel tracks and challenging sand dunes, to assess its performance across diverse terrains.
And as it’s put through its paces, Lincoln’s engineers monitor engine temperatures, oil pressure, and other vital parameters, ensuring optimal performance under extreme stress. The cooling system, designed to manage the Twin Turbocharged 3.5L V6 Engine, is rigorously evaluated for its ability to dissipate heat and prevent overheating, a crucial factor for sustained luxury.
Similarly, inside, when the cabin environment can soar above 50 degrees Celsius – with heat and sunlight that can cause plastics to degrade, fabrics to fade, and premium leather to dry out – Lincoln’s customers understandably demand nothing less than continued AC perfection; which includes its ability to dehumidify the air, preventing condensation and providing crystal-clear visibility for the driver and passengers.
Beyond the mechanical and electrical systems, Lincoln focuses a great deal of emphasis on the durability of its interior materials, using specialized testing equipment, where engineers simulate years of exposure to these penetrating conditions. The result is Navigator’s premium leather seating surfaces and exquisite finishes retaining their pristine condition and luxurious feel.
The all-new Navigator exemplifies the benefits of its painstaking hot weather testing, where its ability to perform reliably and capably in all conditions is undeniable. And it delivers on a commitment that extends beyond mere quality; to a promise of unparalleled customer satisfaction.
“At Lincoln, our meticulous testing of vehicles within, and specifically for, this region, ensures that every nameplate we introduce is not just suitable, but truly crafted with the discerning Middle East customer in mind, embodying our commitment to effortless luxury and personalized experiences,” said Ziyad Dallalah, Chief Engineer, Ford Middle East and North Africa. “Lincoln Navigator is no different; crafted to conquer the stifling heat and shifting sands, promising drivers a safe, reliable, and supremely enjoyable journey, where every drive is an indulgence.”
The intensity of the region’s climate extremes, are no match for the hard-won durability of the all-new Navigator, which delivers the unrivalled serenity and sophistication synonymous with Lincoln.
